We are seeking a dynamic and driven Category Insight Analyst who will help in our efforts to acquire business and competitive information, translating it into actionable insight. They will work cross-functionally and help manage relationships with third party data and insight partners. The role will proactively identify insight with the support of the Category Development & Insight Lead to shape category, customer, and brand strategies, as well as providing performance understanding, executional recommendations, and commercial target setting. This is a newly created role, reporting into the Category Development & Insight Lead, so therefore there is the opportunity for the successful candidate to shape the role and play a part in helping shape our category growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Best in class reporting: Take the lead & own the delivery of key category reports, and processes (on and off trade) and ensure they are well established, implemented, and widely used across the business, seeking feedback and implementing improvements along the way.
- Identify and manage the right third party insights partners working alongside and closely with the Category Development & Insight Lead and help manage these partners effectively ensuring we are maximising our ROI.
- Help train team members in the data and insight whilst focusing on upskilling multiple teams across the business in particular commercial and marketing teams.
- Sales, Marketing And Customer Growth Strategies: Monitor market trends, customer performance, and competitor activity to inform decision-making. Help support the Category Development & Insight Lead in identifying long-term commercial opportunities and identify potential white space and emerging channels recommending where the business should play. Help support the on, off trade sales teams and marketing teams with key insights and facts to enable them to sell more.
- Driving Actionable Insight: Shape the sources of insight we require to achieve the business growth ambition. Help manage and be responsible for quantitative and qualitative projects to be able to identify key brand, shopper and consumer insights and learning. Ensure data & insight is being used effectively across the business whilst incorporating learnings and striving to be best in class.
- Category Strategy And Vision: Help lead and support in providing category insights to fuel category opportunities aligned to our strategic pillars and hero brands. Ensure key insights are applied by channel / format and generates the ‘so what’ to influence and change shopper behaviour and enables us to sell more. Supporting the Category Development & Insight Lead to leverage category best practices & learnings in addition to tapping into US and global to apply to UK.
Qualifications/Requirements
- 2+ years of working experience in Category Management and Shopper insights, Key Account Management or Sales related function. FMCG is desired.
- Ideally educated to degree level.
- High level MS Excel and PowerPoint Skills and competence in manipulating data.
- Familiarity with key market data sources / tools (CGA, Circana, Nielsen, Kantar).
- Creative, ambitious, growth mindset.

- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
