Sazerac Company produces and markets award-winning bourbons and whiskeys, including Buffalo Trace, Pappy Van Winkle, Eagle Rare, and many popular brands across a range of spirits.

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Category Insight Analyst who will help in our efforts to acquire business and competitive information, translating it into actionable insight. They will work cross-functionally and manage relationships with third-party data and insight partners. The role will proactively identify insights with the support of the Category Development & Insight Lead to shape category, customer, and brand strategies, as well as providing performance understanding, executional recommendations, and commercial target setting.

This is a newly created role, reporting into the Category Development & Insight Lead, offering the opportunity for the successful candidate to shape the role and contribute to our category growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take the lead and own the delivery of key category reports and processes (on and off trade) ensuring they are well established, implemented, and widely used across the business.
  • Identify and manage the right third-party insights partners, working closely with the Category Development & Insight Lead to maximise ROI.
  • Help train team members in data and insight while focusing on upskilling multiple teams across the business, particularly commercial and marketing teams.
  • Monitor market trends, customer performance, and competitor activity to inform decision-making.
  • Support the Category Development & Insight Lead in identifying long-term commercial opportunities and potential white space, recommending where the business should play.
  • Support sales and marketing teams with key insights and facts to enable them to sell more.
  • Shape the sources of insight required to achieve business growth ambitions.
  • Manage quantitative and qualitative projects to identify key brand, shopper, and consumer insights.
  • Ensure data and insight are used effectively across the business while incorporating learnings.
  • Provide category insights to fuel category opportunities aligned to our strategic pillars and hero brands.
  • Apply key insights by channel/format to influence shopper behaviour and enable increased sales.
  • Leverage category best practices and learnings from US and global markets to apply to the UK.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • 2+ years of working experience in Category Management and Shopper insights, Key Account Management or Sales related function. FMCG experience is desired.
  • Ideally educated to degree level.
  • High level MS Excel and PowerPoint skills and competence in manipulating data.
  • Familiarity with key market data sources/tools (CGA, Circana, Nielsen, Kantar).
  • Creative, ambitious, and growth-minded.
  • Strong accountability and drive for results.
  • Team player with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to manage and influence key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated active learner with the ability to make independent observations and connect the dots to drive actionable insight.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
