Plant Maintenance Technician required to maintain living walls and interior planting displays in prestigious London workspaces. The role involves extensive travel across London by Underground and use of a company vehicle. Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, you will manage client requirements across the City of London. As a key client-facing representative, you will maintain planting schemes and living walls to a high standard and help ensure client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine plant maintenance to a high standard, including watering, pruning, feeding, cleaning, and pest control.
- Monitor plant health and spot early signs of pests, disease, or environmental stress.
- Replace plants that fail to meet visual standards, keeping accurate records in line with company guidelines.
- Communicate professionally with clients and report issues or recommendations.
- Transport plants, tools, and materials safely between client sites by public transport and occasionally by company vehicle.
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times, especially in commercial environments.
- Report on-site issues to internal teams to help improve service, planning, and stock management.
Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- Experience in plant care, horticulture, or interior landscaping.
- Good knowledge of common indoor plant species and their care needs.
- Able to work independently, manage time well, and follow a route schedule.
- This role involves regular lifting, carrying, travel, long periods of standing, and occasional work at height.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Preferred:
- Horticulture qualification (e.g., RHS Level 2 or equivalent).
- Previous experience in a similar plant maintenance or interior landscaping role.
- Experience working in office or commercial environments.
- Full UK driving licence.
