Sayjo Recruitment Ltd are acting on behalf of a client to source a Technical Author. This is a contract position, working for a well-established Engineering Company, who manufacture process equipment and associated pipework and storage tanks. Supplying to the chemical manufacturing industry and waste water industry, they require a technical author to assist with pulling together technical files for a couple of large projects where, as the manufacturer, they have provided process design.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in similar roles, have the ability to read technical drawings and understand technical engineering projects/equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Documentation: Put together the technical files for projects where process design is included. Currently 2 large projects to focus on, but may be additional smaller tasks besides.
  • Engineering Collaboration: Interpret engineering drawings, to create accurate content.
  • Validation: Work with engineers to validate technical accuracy.
  • Standards Adherence: Maintain documentation in line with industry guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Background: 5+ years of technical authoring experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Literacy: Ability to read electrical/mechanical engineering drawings.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Education: Relevant technical authoring qualification (NVQ, ISTC) or engineering background.
