A Quality Manager with IATF16949 Auditor qualification and experience in ferrous metal heavy engineering. The Quality Manager will proactively manage all products and services provided throughout the departments to ensure the highest quality for customer requirements. Our client provides an extensive range of engineering products and services. Incoming enquiries vary in value from £1000 to £5m and can include the design, manufacture and/or installation of structural steelwork, vessels and process pipework. You will ensure that all products and services are fit for purpose, consistent with internal and external requirements. This includes legal compliance and customer expectations. With a great mix of shop floor, client sites and office work, this role offers a variety and involvement as a key member of the company.

Core responsibilities, skills & duties:

  • Coordination and ownership of all quality standards within the works, the offices and sites from concept to audit.
  • Assess and improve process and procedures to make a positive impact for colleagues and clients.
  • Reviewing customer requirements and ensuring they are met.
  • Evaluating standards of process, product and site completion for all compliance and quality standards.
  • Ensuring company environmental systems and accreditations for ISO 14001 and quality systems for ISO 9001 are managed and maintained.
  • Liaising with internal and external boards and regulators.
  • Setting standards of quality as well as health and safety.
  • Making sure that manufacturing and production processes meet international standards and national standards.
  • Defining quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff.
  • Setting up and maintaining controls and documentation procedures.

Essential knowledge & skills:

  • IATF16949 or CoP or ASME or ISO accredited internal Audit qualifications.
  • Experience in heavy engineering sector, ideally with structural steelwork, vessels and process pipework, metal works or similar product range.
  • Knowledge of safe site practices and procedures.
  • Excellent time management.

Remuneration & benefits:

  • Circa £55K- £60k + (39 hours), negotiable dependant on experience.
  • Holidays start at 25 days plus stats, increasing over 3 years to reach 28 days plus stats.
  • Pension – employer contribution 6%.
  • Westfield Health.
  • Death in service cover.
