At Sayer Vincent, we’re proud to be different from traditional audit firms. Founded in 1983 by three accountants driven by a commitment to social justice, we were created to meet a clear need: specialist audit and advisory services for charities and social purpose organisations. While we’ve grown and evolved over the years, our founding ethos remains at the heart of everything we do. We exist to help charities and not‑for‑profits become more effective, resilient and impactful — so they, in turn, can better support their beneficiaries. If you’re passionate about the sector and want your professional expertise to make a genuine difference, you’ll feel right at home with us.

Our people are our greatest strength. We foster a collaborative, supportive culture where individuals are encouraged to develop, grow and bring their whole selves to work.

The role involves delivering high‑quality audit and assurance services to a diverse portfolio of charity and not‑for‑profit clients. You’ll combine technical excellence with a strong understanding of the sector, building trusted relationships and helping organisations navigate an increasingly complex regulatory environment.

Key responsibilities:
  • Leading and managing end‑to‑end audit assignments, ensuring delivery within agreed budgets and timelines.
  • Acting as a trusted adviser to clients, building and maintaining strong relationships from tendering through to ongoing engagement, fee negotiation and service development.
  • Managing, mentoring and developing team members, including active involvement in the training and progression of trainees.
  • Contributing to technical developments, client training initiatives and the wider strategic growth of the firm.
About you:

You are an experienced audit professional who is motivated by purpose as well as performance. You will bring:

  • ACA (or equivalent) qualification with significant experience managing audits across varying sizes and complexities.
  • Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients and contributing to new business tenders.
  • A strong track record of coaching and developing junior colleagues, ideally including ACA trainees.
  • A deep understanding of the charity and not‑for‑profit sector (or a strong desire to specialise further), with the ability to think strategically and add value beyond compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly when working with trustees, senior management and non‑financial stakeholders.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities effectively within a matrix management environment.

If you’re looking for a role where your audit expertise can support organisations doing vital work across society, we’d love to hear from you. Visit our website to find out more and apply.
