Your New Role: We are seeking a talented MOT Tester to become an essential part of our award-winning team! In this key role, you’ll report to the Workshop Manager/Controller and take charge of MOT testing and vehicle compliance. Enjoy a weekday-only schedule with no weekends, allowing you to focus on delivering exceptional results in a professional and encouraging atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- MOT Testing: Conduct daily MOT tests to DVSA standards, ensuring the highest levels of safety and compliance.
- Collaborative Communication: Liaise with the Workshop Controller to share test results and advise on necessary additional work.
- Proactive Problem Identification: Detect and report any potential issues with MOT equipment or testing lanes to senior management.
- Minor Repairs: Perform minor vehicle repairs to uphold rigorous roadworthiness standards.
- Quality Oversight: Lead quality inspections throughout the MOT process, maintaining consistency and high standards.
- Test Lane Management: Ensure the test lane is well-maintained, including routine calibration and equipment updates.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay current with MOT requirements, vehicle standards, and best practices to ensure quality service.
- Organisational Excellence: Keep workspaces and paperwork organised for a smooth and efficient operation.
- Flexible Support: Be ready to assist with other reasonable duties as assigned by management.
Who We’re Looking For
Qualifications: NVQ in Motor Vehicle Technology or equivalent
Licences: Valid Class 4 and 7 MOT testing licence; full UK driving licence
Experience: Demonstrable experience in a professional workshop environment, with a focus on MOT testing
Skills: Excellent communication abilities and strong organisational skills, coupled with a proactive problem-solving mindset
