We are working on a role with a financial institution looking to strengthen its Treasury Risk capabilities. The position sits within the 2nd Line, supporting risk oversight across Treasury, ALM, Liquidity and Interest Rate Risk.

Location: Basildon, England, United Kingdom

Key Responsibilities

  • Embedding and enhancing the organisation’s Treasury Risk Management Framework
  • Strengthening governance and controls within a Three Lines of Defence model
  • Improving controls and supporting the development of the Treasury Target Operating Model
  • Supporting management of IRRBB, Liquidity Risk (LCR/NSFR), FX Risk and capital considerations
  • Building and validating Treasury/ALM models (e.g., IRRBB, liquidity, cashflow forecasting, FTP)
  • Automating processes and improving efficiency through coding and analytical tools
  • Producing high-quality MI and reports for senior committees and external stakeholders
  • Providing oversight of Treasury models, macros and spreadsheets
  • Partnering with Treasury and wider teams to enable business activity within risk appetite
  • Contributing to key regulatory documents such as ICAAP, ILAAP, RAS and Recovery Planning
  • Creating new analytical tools and insights for Treasury, Risk and Finance

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

  • Monitoring Treasury’s performance against the risk framework
  • Enhancing preventative and detective controls
  • Escalating issues, breaches or concerns where required
  • Providing forecasts and insights for decision‑making
  • Maintaining risk registers and tracking actions
  • Staying up to date with regulatory and industry developments affecting Treasury Risk

What We’re Looking For

  • 5 years’ experience in Risk, ALM or related roles within financial services
  • Strong understanding of interest rate and liquidity risk modelling
  • Experience producing regulatory MI and working with prudential frameworks
  • Exposure to stress testing (ICAAP/ILAAP)
  • Advanced Excel; familiarity with Access/SQL a bonus
  • Ability to automate/optimize processes (Python/R desirable)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present technical concepts clearly
