We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Operations Manager to oversee and manage the daily operational activities of our Prime Brokerage business. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of middle and back-office processes, maintaining strong internal controls, supporting client service excellence, and driving continuous improvements in operational efficiency and risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Operations Oversight: Supervise day-to-day trade capture, allocation, confirmation, and settlement processes across equities, fixed income, FX and derivatives. Oversee margin and collateral management, including daily reconciliations and client reporting. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of client reporting, trade statements, and portfolio summaries.
- Risk & Control: Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory standards, and operational risk controls. Identify, investigate, and resolve breaks or discrepancies in trade processing, reconciliation, and client reporting. Maintain audit trails, perform periodic control reviews, and support internal/external audit requests.
- Process Improvement & Technology: Partner with technology and change teams to implement automation, system enhancements, and new product rollouts. Continuously review and improve operational workflows to increase efficiency and reduce manual intervention. Participate in UAT testing and post-implementation reviews of new systems or processes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise closely with Front Office, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and IT to ensure end-to-end alignment and timely issue resolution. Prepare and present metrics, KPIs, and management information reports to senior stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in Prime Brokerage or Capital Markets operations.
- Strong knowledge of financial products, including equities, fixed income and FX.
- Experience with trade lifecycle management, settlements, reconciliations, and margin processes.
- Proven track record of managing operational risk and implementing process improvements.
- Knowledge of Calypso or Murex would be advantageous.
