THE COMPANY: We have been instructed by an international Private, corporate & specialist finance bank who has their European hub in London. They provide a range of corporate banking, Private banking and real estate services.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Day to day management of the Settlements & Investment Admin team with emphasis on regulatory and internal compliance and management of Operations Risk.
  • Settlements comprising:
    • Treasury cash, Securities, Money Market and Derivative settlements and administration
    • Reconciliation and investigation of nostro and suspense accounts related to departmental activities and related transactional reporting.
    • Activities covered under the FCA CASS rules (excl SMF 24 responsibilities)
    • Regulatory Reporting (CMAR, MIFIR, UKEMIR, SFTR)
  • Investment Administration and Validation Department comprising:
    • All administrative functions arising from the bank’s institutional, Wealth Management and Private Banking investment activities.
    • Client reporting.
    • Portfolio validation and consolidated reporting.
    • AEOI: Document gathering and checking of newly onboarded Individuals/Entities.
    • Ongoing maintenance of Individuals/Entities to the SCV system.
    • End of year reconciliations.
    • Annual HMRC Reporting.
  • Other tasks:
    • Lead and provide operational readiness approval for any projects, new product approval and/or system implementation tasks.
    • Where appropriate contributes to wider management, strategy and projects through relevant forums and committees.
    • Responsible for maintaining internal procedures and their compliance with both internal policy and external regulatory requirements.
    • Interfacing with internal and external Auditors and ensuring a timely response is provided.
    • Timely delivery of Operational Risk Incident reporting and RCSA management and review.
    • Ensures appropriate staffing levels are always maintained.
    • Contributes to the overall staffing model (number of staff and skills levels) for their area.
    • Conduct performance management reviews with staff, prepare and manage objectives and perform regular one to one and team meetings.
    • Membership of the CASS committee.
    • Ensure adherence to Shariah compliant operational standards and internal policies.
    • Any other ad-hoc duties that may be allocated by the Head of Operations including those not directly related to the Settlements & Investment Administration section.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a Management/Supervisory role with excellent knowledge and experience of Treasury Settlements, Custody and Investment Admin including Wealth Management.
  • Knowledge of MIFID, UKEMIR and SFTR transaction reporting requirements.
  • Good understanding of CASS reporting requirements.
  • Good understanding of SWIFT and Payment message types.
  • Good level of numeracy and literacy.
  • A good understanding of Operational Risk and administration of operational aspects associated with all Risks and Controls.
