Job Overview:
The Head of Operations will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational activities within the firm. This role will ensure the smooth functioning of the back-office operations, compliance, trade execution support, and risk management functions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead and manage the operations team, ensuring that all operational functions are delivered efficiently, accurately, and within compliance.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve scalability, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery to clients.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of trade confirmations, settlements, reconciliations, and cash management, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
- Act as a key partner with senior management and traders to support business growth and operational improvements.
- Ensure operational activities comply with all relevant regulations, including LME, FCA, and MiFID II.
2. Trade Lifecycle Management:
- Oversee the end-to-end trade lifecycle for LME transactions, including trade execution, clearing, settlement, and documentation.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of LME contracts, from trade execution through to final settlement, including managing relationships with clearinghouses, banks, and other counterparties.
- Coordinate the management of margin requirements and collateral processes in accordance with LME exchange regulations.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management within an LME brokerage environment.
- Extensive experience in LME trade processing, clearing, settlement, and risk management.
- In-depth knowledge of LME market structure, regulations, and trading platforms.
- Proven track record of managing and developing teams.
