We are seeking a dedicated Financial Product Governance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the development and governance of our UK tax wrapper products, specifically ISA and Pensions. You will ensure our ISA and SIPP offerings are compliant with HMRC and FCA regulations and positioned for significant revenue growth.

Additionally, you will have first line responsibilities for product governance and oversight. This includes ensuring our products meet the FCA's Consumer Duty regulations and are suitable for our UK retail clients. You will play a pivotal role in developing our governance framework and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to maintain smooth operations.

Responsibilities
  • Development and governance of UK tax wrapper products: Collaborate with Tax Wrapper Product Owners and internal departments to enhance ISA & Pension products and services, ensuring compliance with HMRC and FCA requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of rules, regulations, and legislation for ISAs and pension products, working closely with Compliance.
  • Oversee SCML's universe of ISA qualifying instruments, identifying non-qualifying instruments, and ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements.
  • Manage work instructions for Operations to service tax wrappers (e.g., stock transfers, tax statements).
  • Serve as the point of contact for funding and asset transfer queries, liaising with external ISA managers, internal operations teams, and trustees/direct clients.
  • Act as an escalation point for Client Services on product-related client issues or questions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate annual reporting to HMRC.
  • Maintain relationships with existing pension trustees, ensuring compliance with instrument universe, reporting, and configuration requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of tax wrapper products against key KPIs, identifying trends and formulating remediation plans.
First line responsibilities for product governance and oversight:
  • Complete annual product reviews, including distribution models, attributions, vulnerable client distribution, and target market assessments.
  • Present product reviews to senior management at the Product Governance Committee.
  • Liaise with Second line on policy and procedure reviews.
  • Produce monthly MI on the performance of vulnerable clients in non-cash or complex products.
  • Conduct market analysis comparing SCML costs and charges with competitors, providing guidance on revenue impacts.
  • Maintain an internal client group database to ensure product suitability for different retail client personas.
Your profile

You have minimum 5 years of experience working with UK tax wrapper products, with extensive knowledge of ISAs and SIPPs. With project management experience, you are capable of structuring and organizing large initiatives and you have a proven track record of delivering change. You possess a data-focused mentality, backed by an analytical skillset and keen attention to detail. The ability to manage stakeholders and work in close collaboration with multiple internal and external counterparts is crucial. Having experience in client-facing roles is an added advantage.
