Anglian Learning is pleased to share with you an exciting opportunity for a Year Lead (Part‑time) to join the outstanding pastoral team at Sawston Village College. As a non‑teaching Year Lead, you will be responsible for the personal development, wellbeing, behaviour and attendance of a year group, while having oversight of their academic progress.

Working as part of an established job‑share arrangement, you will play a key role in supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning, promoting positive behaviour and attendance, and ensuring every young person feels safe, supported and valued. At Sawston Village College, Year Leads typically remain with their year group from Year 7 through to Year 11, building strong relationships with pupils and families and providing continuity of support throughout their secondary school journey.

Working closely with pupils, families, tutors, teaching staff, safeguarding colleagues and external agencies, you will help every pupil achieve their full potential and make a positive transition to the next stage of their education.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience of working with children and young people and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
  • Be resilient, organised and committed to promoting high standards of behaviour, attendance and wellbeing.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and enjoy working collaboratively as part of a supportive pastoral team.
