We are working with a high-growth events business that is building a major international platform at the intersection of science, health, technology, business and consumer experience.

Following a highly successful inaugural event in London, the business is entering an exciting new phase of growth. The next stage will involve scaling the flagship UK event while simultaneously launching a new edition in the US.

We are looking for an exceptional Event Director to take ownership of this next chapter.

This is not a traditional event-management role. You will have significant responsibility for the strategy, commercial growth, content, partnerships, audience experience and operational delivery.

The Role

You will own the event portfolio across the UK and US, working closely with senior leadership and a network of influential partners, speakers, sponsors and industry stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and own the strategic roadmap for the event across multiple international markets.
  • Define and evolve the event proposition, format and audience experience.
  • Shape compelling content that brings together scientific, commercial and consumer perspectives.
  • Identify opportunities to differentiate the brand and establish it as a leading international platform.

International Expansion

  • Lead the launch of a major new US edition from the ground up.
  • Adapt an established UK proposition to a new market, audience and commercial environment.
  • Develop the venue, supplier, production and partnership ecosystem required for successful international delivery.
  • Build a roadmap for further international expansion.

Commercial Growth

  • Own commercial performance across sponsorship, partnerships, exhibitors and ticket sales.
  • Develop high-value strategic relationships with brands, investors, industry leaders and other stakeholders.
  • Work closely with commercial and marketing teams to maximise revenue and audience growth.
  • Identify new commercial opportunities and revenue streams.

Operational Leadership

  • Take overall responsibility for event delivery across multiple markets.
  • Lead venue selection, procurement, supplier management, production planning, budgets and onsite execution.
  • Establish robust processes across speaker management, exhibitor operations, delegate experience and event logistics.
  • Maintain exceptionally high standards across every aspect of the attendee experience.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams across content, sales, marketing, logistics and operations.
  • Create clarity around objectives, accountability and priorities.
  • Build the team and infrastructure required to support international growth.
  • Act as the senior point of leadership across the event operation.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build trusted relationships with senior executives, founders, investors, experts, speakers and commercial partners.
  • Manage complex stakeholder relationships across multiple countries.
  • Represent the event at the highest level and become a credible ambassador for the brand and its mission.

About You

We are looking for someone who combines commercial instinct, operational excellence and entrepreneurial energy.

You will likely have:

  • 5+ years’ experience delivering large-scale conferences, exhibitions or experiential events, ideally with 1,000+ attendees.
  • A strong track record of launching, scaling or transforming flagship events.
  • Experience operating across both B2B and B2C audiences.
  • Experience taking an event or proposition into a new international market.
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience managing significant budgets.
  • Excellent operational and project-management skills.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders, high-profile speakers and major commercial partners.
  • The ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and external suppliers.
  • A highly developed understanding of audience experience and what makes an event genuinely memorable.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and the confidence to make decisions in a fast-moving environment.
  • The willingness and ability to travel regularly internationally.
