Responsibilities
- Provide tailored legal advice and action accordingly through:
- Effective note taking and recording of clear instructions
- Excellent research skills
- An ability to produce first-class legal opinions on complex areas of law and fact patterns
- Provide concise letters and reports for clients, written in plain language
- Draft concise documents in plain language
- Interview and advise clients, helping them decide the best course of action
- An ability to produce confident written and oral advocacy in a time sensitive environment
Qualifications and experience
- Barrister or qualified solicitor with a minimum of 3 years post qualified experience
- Ideally 2-3 years experience with Commercial Litigation
- Understand and relate instructions in relation to corporate and commercial issues
- Conduct effective matter management
- Develop strong client relationships
- Communicate concisely both verbally and in writing with colleagues and clients
- Draft documents that are clear and concise
- Conduct negotiations where appropriate
- Presentation skills advantageous
- A willingness to be actively engaged in business development
- Ability to manage a team and workloads effectively and calmly
- Use initiative to manage problems without heavy reliance on a Partner, driving the tempo of a case
- Develop strategic planning skills and consultative relationship with clients
- Balance the act of serving the client and the firm
