Overview
As Strategic Ecologist in Savills’ Natural Capital team, you shape ecology-driven value across rural and urban projects.
You will guide strategic ecological advice, navigate evolving environmental policy (including Biodiversity Net Gain), and lead multi-disciplinary delivery for clients.
Your work spans ecological due diligence, peer review of Biodiversity Net Gain assessments, Environmental Statements, and stakeholder engagement with Natural England, NGOs, and Local Planning Authorities.
You’ll drive new work, improve efficiency, and balance development with ecosystem value.

Responsibilities
- Provide strategic ecological advice to urban and rural clients to integrate nature into growth
- Shape solutions for evolving environmental policy, including Biodiversity Net Gain
- Drive new work streams and improve operational efficiency
- Conduct ecological due diligence across projects and sectors
- Peer-review ecological documentation such as Biodiversity Net Gain assessments
- Prepare and review Environmental Statements and Habitats Regulations Assessments
- Coordinate ecological service delivery through third parties
- Engage with stakeholders including Natural England, e NGOs, and Local Planning Authorities
- Offer commercially savvy guidance on Biodiversity Net Gain and ecological delivery within multidisciplinary teams
