This role is being advertised by Savills Management Resources (SMR), a wholly owned entity of Savills (UK) Limited but a separate employing entity which is not accredited by Real Living Wage.
Purpose of the Role
Responsible for the control and co-ordination of the nominated Permit to work system for contractors at site to ensure legal and contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the control of safe systems of work throughout the site.
- Point of contact for Permit/Authority to work management.
- Ensure all procedures are followed by sub-contractors.
- Ensure that contractor activities are appropriate for the time/date and location they are scheduled for, taking into consideration exceptional business activities or events.
- Produce monthly reports as part of the prescribed Client reporting cycle.
- Oversee the sub-contractors safe systems of work and ensure they carry out work safely, efficiently and to standard.
- Liaise positively and professionally with Client representatives, contractors and customers.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Liaise with, audit and manage sub-contractors.
- Ensure a professional image of the company is presented to clients and visitors and ensure excellence in customer service is delivered and promoted at all times.
- Carry out any other duties deemed reasonable by the line manager.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience

- Continuously pursue high standards, embrace change, recognise improvement opportunities and learn from experience.
- Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are adhered to for all tasks to ensure safe working practices and carry out Dynamic Risk Assessments where required.
Qualifications & Technical Abilities
- IT literate in MS Office and systems management software.
- Management experience in dealing with sub-contractors and supply chain partners.
- Demonstrate previous responsibility in managing policies and systems such as H&S, QA, environmental and corporate while complying with current and appropriate legislation and standards.
- Able to co-ordinate and manage multiple works, end-to-end across a diverse and complex site.
- Proven track record in the development of positive contractor/client relations and communications.
- Work within agreed systems and processes and maintain accurate records.
- Valid H&S qualification is desirable.
