An exciting opportunity has arisen for a GIS Manager to join our Land Referencing & Geospatial team. You’ll be responsible for leading our GIS Hub within the Land Referencing & Geospatial Team, providing strategic, technical, and operational leadership for all GIS deliverables that support major infrastructure development schemes. The role ensures that geospatial data, mapping outputs, analysis, and digital processes meet the requirements of national infrastructure planning, land acquisition, stakeholder engagement, and statutory processes.

This is a home-based position, and your focus will be in the following areas:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary GIS team, ensuring effective workload planning, resource allocation, and professional development.
  • Define and maintain the GIS Hub’s strategic direction, technical standards, and best practices.
  • Act as the primary GIS lead for major infrastructure projects and cross-disciplinary workstreams.
  • Oversee the creation and management of mapping products, geospatial data models, web GIS applications, and spatial analysis to support land acquisition and infrastructure project development.
  • Ensure all GIS outputs adhere to national standards, project specifications, and statutory requirements (e.g., DCO, CPO, EIAs).
  • Lead GIS scoping, resourcing, and planning for large infrastructure programmes and associated land acquisition work.
