Kinnordy Farm partnership is a mixed farming estate in Angus, Scotland and is entering an exciting new chapter with a change in livestock farming policy. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Working Farm Manager to lead the organic livestock farming operations on this beautiful upland estate.
About the Farm:
- 500 cross ewes
- 900 hill ewes
- 30 suckler cows
- Expansive, scenic land with a strong focus on quality livestock and sustainable practices
- Hill and upland farm in the Angus Glens complemented by separate lowground farms near Kirriemuir
The Role:
You will be responsible for day-to-day management of the organic livestock enterprises, with the opportunity to contribute to and implement the estate’s livestock farming policy, ensuring high standards of animal welfare and productivity. This is a hands-on role requiring excellent practical and organisational skills and a proactive approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee flock and herd health, lambing, calving, breeding, nutrition and grazing management
- Maintain compliance with highest standards of animal welfare and environmental standards
- Maintain organic certification compliance
- Manage contractors effectively
- Contribute to strategic planning and budgeting
