An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head Shepherd at Tillybardine Farms, Brechin. The farm has a large Blackface hill flock and a small herd of Highland cattle. You will be managing and supervising the farm staff, working closely with the Estate Manager on one of the UK’s top grouse moors.

The farms have benefited from significant investment in recent years, including the modernisation of machinery and infrastructure, ensuring the steadings are well-equipped and up to contemporary standards.

The role:

  • Day-to-day management of the sheep and cattle enterprises.
  • Maintain accurate livestock health and breeding records.
  • Take an active role in managing and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, as well as the estate’s farm policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working with hill sheep flocks and knowledge of grazing and soil health.
  • Skilled sheepdogs.
  • UK Driving Licence.
