Purpose of the Role
To assist with the smooth running of the retail park and to assist with all emergency situations when they occur.
This includes providing visible security cover to the centre, handling enquiries and customer concerns, monitoring CCTV (by suitably trained and licensed staff) and controlling contractors and deliveries to the centre.
Key Responsibilities
- To work the hours and shifts in accordance with conditions of employment.
- To undertake regular patrols of the retail park, a minimum of 9 patrols a day.
- To carry out duties in accordance with instructions issued by the Operations Manager.
- To comply fully with the Health & Safety Policy for the park.
- To comply with their individual responsibilities to ensure that the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order are complied with, in line with company policy and site procedures.
- To ensure that the Rules & Regulations of the Retail Park are complied with at all times.
- Ensure that all incidents are recorded in Incident Log and any serious incidents are escalated to the National Operations Centre in accordance with the company’s security protocol.
- Ensure that contractors and delivery drivers arriving on site adhere fully, to requirements for contractor management and site H&S in line with the company policy and site procedures.
- Ensure that the centre is a safe and pleasant environment.
- To assist with enquiries from the public if so required.
- To be aware of and abide by all rules, terms and conditions of the company.
- In order to comply with the Security Industry Act 2001, officers must hold a valid SIA Security Licence and where necessary a Public Space Surveillance Licence.
- Monitoring of CCTV systems (by suitably trained and licensed staff)
- Verbal communication with tenants where required
- Communication with other service providers on site
- Preparation and management of logbooks and documentation including the daily occurrence book, Incident Log and any other documentation required for Health and Safety, Security and audits.

- Experience in the provision of security services in a busy environment visited by members of the public.
- In order to comply with the Security Industry Act 2001, officers must hold a valid SIA Security Licence and where necessary a Public Space Surveillance Licence.
- Ability to demonstrate good levels of customer service at all times.
- Ability to work on own initiative and deal with demanding situations.
- Honest and reliable work ethic.
- Willingness to partake in on-site training for emergency procedures.
