Purpose of the Role
We are looking for a reliable and proactive Environmental Assistant to support the smooth running of our environmental operations across the mall, back of house and multi storey car parks.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with cleaning machinery, autonomous Cobotic units, and technology supported cleaning systems.
You will play a key part in maintaining high presentation standards for our retailers, visitors and Centre expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation, Operate Cobotic autonomous units, scrubber‑dryers, sweepers and other cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Cobotic Management, Set routes, monitor performance, respond to alerts, complete software updates and ensure safe autonomous operation.
- Basic Computing Tasks, Use tablets/PC dashboards for Cobotic control, reporting, defect logging and daily checklists.
- Preventative Maintenance, Carry out daily/weekly machine checks, clean filters, inspect brushes, replace pads and report faults promptly.
- Environmental Standards, Support mall cleanliness, waste segregation and recycling streams.
- Compliance Support, Complete machinery check sheets, follow COSHH guidance and maintain safe working practices.
- Team & Tenant Support, Assist colleagues, respond to retailer requests and uphold professional service charge standards.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Machine Experience, Experience using cleaning machinery (scrubber dryers, sweepers, autonomous units).
- Cobotic or Robotics Familiarity, Understanding of autonomous cleaning systems or willingness to train/learn.
- IT Competence, Comfortable using tablets, dashboards, apps and simple troubleshooting steps.
- Health & Safety Awareness, Knowledge of safe machine operation, PPE and manual handling.
- Environmental Knowledge, Understanding of waste segregation and recycling processes.
- Communication, Clear and polite communication with colleagues and retailers.
- Working Hours - 30hrs Per Week Monday – Friday 06:00 - 12:00
