To support the Savills in‑house security teams with bespoke cover, supporting in‑house sites in your region with holiday, sickness and additional duty cover as required. The role assists core security teams with the day‑to‑day running of in‑house security provisions across multiple sites and environments. You will follow Savills AI’s SOPs as well as local site instructions, receiving bespoke training for each site under your remit. Your responsibilities include maintaining the security posture of the site during your shift – physical security patrols, customer interaction, incident response, CCTV monitoring, and supporting the CCTV system in compliance with GDPR and company policies. You will be expected to gather evidence during incidents, record accurate and legible investigation notes, and provide observation, analysis and decision‑making to resolve incidents. Flexibility to work across multiple sites and environments, maintaining a high level of professionalism, customer service and safety for staff, tenants and visitors is essential.
Key Responsibilities (This is not an exhaustive list)
- Attend pre‑scheduled shifts at the assigned location.
- Work as part of the site security team or as the lone security operative when a lone‑working site.
- Interact with all visitors and tenants, delivering best‑in‑class customer‑focused service.
- Carry out regular patrols as detailed in the security assignment instructions.
- Provide proactive reporting.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, site‑specific procedures and industry standards.
- Respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
- Maintain a professional appearance with the company‑issued uniform.
- Ensure the site remains a safe environment for staff, tenants, visitors and the Savills team.
- Manage incidents in accordance with the company handbook, site policies and company policies.
- Liaise with the security lead, proactively reacting to incidents and ensuring colleagues are briefed and supported.
- Deal effectively with any emergencies such as evacuations, fire and antisocial behaviour.
- Manage and maintain site records via DOB or local facility method.
- Operate as part of the control room team, undertaking CCTV monitoring and supporting security services out with the control room.
- Acquire an understanding of fire and intruder systems, front‑end only (training provided at each site).
- Monitor and report equipment faults in a timely manner, following SOPs.
- Be conversant with operational functions of the CCTV system and access control system at the site (training provided).
- Assist and support the security lead and site management with any reasonable requirement.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties at the request of site management or area manager.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Good English written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel between sites and undertake training at each site.
- High level of integrity.
- 5‑year checkable employment record.
- Valid and active SIA licence – Door Supervisor, Security Guarding & CCTV.
- First Aid qualified.
- Proactive approach.
Desirable
- Front‑line security experience.
Working Hours
Zero hour contract – rota will be provided in advance to cover various shift patterns including days, nights and weekends.
