To support the Savills in‑house security teams with bespoke cover at Queensgate Shopping Centre sickness/additional duty cover as and when required within your monthly hours. The purpose of the Security Relief Officer role is to support the core security team with the day to day running of the in‑house security provisions within Queensgate. You will follow the Savills AI’s, SOPs as well as complying with local instruction on each site you are based. Bespoke training will be provided for the site that falls under your remit. You will ensure that exemplary standards of security are met when on duty and also provide a high level of customer service. You will be responsible for supporting/maintaining the security posture of the site during your shift. You are responsible to operate the CCTV systems in compliance of GDPR and our company policies and procedures. You will be expected to deliver the proactive monitoring of the CCTV systems where applicable to ensure security of the site you are working in line with the security strategy. During any incidents you may be required to gather evidence, using either CCTV or in‑person investigating; these investigation notes may be used by the police or the business so must be accurate and legible. You will need to have excellent observation skills with a good eye for detail with an ability to analyse data and be confident in making decisions and giving direction to affect a satisfactory resolution to incidents. A successful applicant must be a team player and able to operate as a group or independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • To work as part of the site security team, or to be the lone security operative if a lone working site
  • To readily interact with all visitors/tenants within the building(s)/facility, delivering a best in class customer focused service
  • Carry out regular patrols as detailed in the security assignment instructions
  • Proactive reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with company procedures, site specific procedures, and industry standards
  • Responding to security incidents in a timely manner
  • Being professional, pleasant, friendly, courteous and helpful whilst carrying out your duties
  • To maintain professional appearance with company issued uniform
  • To ensure that the location you are working remains a safe environment for staff/tenants/visitors and the Savills team alike
  • Ensuring all incidents are managed in accordance with the company handbook, site policies and company policies
  • Liaising with the supervisory team members and management: Part‑time, proactively reacting to incidents and ensuring that colleagues are fully briefed and supported
  • To deal effectively and efficiently with any emergencies, such as but not limited to, evacuations, fire & ASB
  • Diligent management and maintenance of site records via DOB or local facility method
  • To work as part of a control room team and undertake day to day CCTV monitoring of the site, as well as supporting the security services out with the control room
  • To have an understanding of Fire & intruder systems, front end only (training will be provided at each site)
  • Monitoring and reporting any equipment faults in a timely manner and in line with the SOPs of the site you are working
  • Being conversant with the operational functions of the CCTV system, Access control system at the site you are working (training provided)
  • Assist and support the security lead, site management with any reasonable or practical requirement
  • Undertaking of any other reasonable duties at the site management or area managers requirement to meet the needs of the business

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Qualifications and experience:

  • Flexibility and willing to support reactive duties, when possible, duties will be days, nights and weekends
  • 5‑year checkable employment record
  • Valid and Active SIA Licenced – Door Supervisor
  • First Aid Qualified EFAW/FAW

Working Hours - Part time position 0 hours expected to cover 24 hours plus per week. Days/Nights/weekends
