Purpose of the Role
The Retail Marketing and Events Executive role involves the day-to-day management of relationships with retailers; marketing and management teams to deliver effective communication and marketing events and campaigns that enhance sales and footfall within the Centre. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate strong communication skills and an ability to interact effectively with property stakeholders, retailers, centre management, consumers and third-party marketing suppliers. This is a multi-skilled marketing role which requires a self-motivated and proactive individual who can take a hands‑on approach to all tasks and deliver them effectively and in a timely fashion. The role includes a primary focus on social media and event co‑ordination and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining a strong communications link with the retailers.
- Co‑ordinate the delivery of local events and activities in keeping with the client approved marketing strategy.
- Reporting and measuring local effectiveness of all marketing activity.
- Supporting on maintaining website & Insights App and tracking data analytics.
- Regular direction and structured liaison with the Centre Director and Savills Place (in‑house marketing agency).
- Monitoring budgets & working closely with the finance manager to track all annual expenditure against Marketing budget.
- Managing social media campaigns.
- Monitoring performance of marketing campaigns.
- Communicating and building relationships with all key stakeholders (internal and external).
- Working with design team on campaign messaging.
- Ensuring campaign execution is implemented across all main channels in conjunction with Savills Place account manager.
- Liaison with tenants at both site and head office level to encourage participation in events & activities.
- Being responsible for the execution of tenant liaison strategies including meetings, newsletters, e‑communications via the Insights app.
- Working under guidance of Savills place in the delivery and execution of the annual marketing strategy.
- Providing monthly site marketing reports for the client meetings.
- Undertaking regular updates of the website and encouraging tenants to provide offers and promotions.
- Creating & delivering regular community engagement activities to meet with our annual ESG targets.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Knowledge or experience of working in a marketing agency or retail environment would be advantageous.
- Research, analytical and communication abilities.
- Organised with excellent planning capabilities, methodical and informed.
- Good analytical skills to support execution of marketing campaigns.
- Communication skills: passing relevant information to the appropriate teams, stakeholders, and clients.
- Good communication skills are necessary to relay relevant information.
- Requires the necessary technical skill to plan an effective marketing campaign.
- Excellent team working skills.
- Marketing rationale; creative and outside the box thinking.
- Customer‑oriented: an ability to understand the customer and their needs is essential to being successful in this role.
- Knowledge of how the customers view Thistles, and how to build trust and loyalty with customers through salient messaging and event content.

- The ability to cope well under pressure and work to tight deadlines.
Working Hours - 9am – 5.30pm (32 hours per week)
Salary - Dependent on experience
