Purpose of the Role

To work as part of the Savills front of house team, based at the busy main reception desk. To assist with the smooth running of daily operations and ensure all building users receive excellent customer service and have a positive experience. The role will be working alongside another Security Officer and a Receptionist, providing visible security/concierge cover, welcoming guests and visitors, following occupier visitor management procedures, handling enquiries and occupier concerns in person, over the phone and via email, monitoring CCTV, completing site patrols and reports, reporting facilities issues, managing contractors and dealing with any emergency situations that arise. One St Peter’s Square is a large commercial building that is open to occupiers 24/7 and has a number of high profile occupiers so the role would suit someone professional with excellent communication skills and experience in a customer facing role.

Key Responsibilities

  • To work the hours and shifts in accordance with conditions of employment.
  • To carry out duties in accordance with instructions issued by Building Management.
  • To work as part of the front of house team, dealing with building user enquiries face to face, over the phone and via email.
  • To follow occupier procedures for visitor management, check in visitors and guests and issue keys and passes as required.
  • To undertake regular patrols of the building as instructed and report any facilities issues.
  • To comply fully with the Health & Safety Policy on site.
  • To comply with individual responsibilities to ensure that the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order are complied with, in line with company policy and site procedures.
  • To ensure that the rules and regulations of the building are complied with at all times.
  • Ensure that all incidents are recorded in the correct manner.
  • Ensure that contractors arriving on site adhere fully to requirements for contractor management and site H&S in line with the company policy and site procedures.
  • Ensure that the building is a safe and pleasant environment for staff and visitors.
  • To assist with enquiries from the public and emergency services if so required.
  • To be aware of and abide by all rules, terms and conditions of the company.

In order to comply with the Security Industry Act 2001, officers must hold a valid SIA Security Licence and a Public Space Surveillance/CCTV Licence.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Experience in the provision of security/concierge services in a busy environment visited by members of the public.
  • In order to comply with the Security Industry Act 2001, officers must hold a valid SIA Security Licence and a Public Space Surveillance/CCTV Licence.
  • Ability to demonstrate high levels of customer service at all times.
  • Confident user of IT - ability to use full range of Microsoft applications including Outlook email and calendar functions, One Drive and a number of electronic systems for visitor management, patrol reports and key/pass management.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and deal with demanding situations.
  • Honest and reliable work ethic.
  • Willingness to partake in onsite training for emergency procedures.
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Accurate record keeping with good attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Operational experience within an office building environment.
  • Basic knowledge of H&S legislation.

Working Hours & Salary

Working Hours: 7am-7pm, Shifts – 4 on 4 off

Salary: From £14.20 per hour depending on experience (average of 42 hours worked per week)
