Purpose of the Role
This role is responsible for mechanical building services design for M&E Consultancy, Design & Projects team services on various project types and for various clients. The main responsibility is in the area of managing project delivery and being accountable for all project outcomes and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops contacts within the industry and with clients.
  • Develops a good relationship with Clients and Fellow Professionals.
  • Looks for business development opportunities.
  • Accountable for day to day operations in area of technical functional expertise.
  • Plans work and resources for the team.
  • Ensures projects are delivered to the highest technical standards.
  • Contributes towards the quality control on projects.
  • Prepares calculations/specifications and drawings, ensuring they are appropriate and comply with the clients brief.
  • Co-ordinates their design works with other Engineers within the team.
  • Takes part in multiple projects in parallel where necessary.
  • Anticipates difficulties and proposes solutions for constant improvement.
  • Is able to present their own work to internal and external team members.
  • Reviews resources and manage resource issues.
  • Coordinates and liaises with CAD/Revit resource on a continual basis and ensures that drawing information is of an appropriate standard.
  • Effectively manages time and priorities.
  • Extends their ability and is interested in acquiring new skills and techniques.
  • Provides technical support to Senior Engineers, Engineers and junior team members within the team as required.

In addition to the tasks described above, the job holder may be required to carry out other duties as may be reasonably required from time to time.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Functional expert in day to day operations within Design & Projects.
  • Fully qualified coupled with significant experience.
  • Understands and has an interest in low energy and sustainable design.
  • Good time management, organisation and communication skills.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Creative thinking and demonstrates the application of innovative solutions.
  • Confident user of AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint software.
  • Ideally will have experience using or willingness to train and develop to use Adobe Indesign, Abobe Illustrator, NBS, IES, TAS, Revit and MagiCAD.

Working Hours - 37.5 hours
