This is an exciting part time role within our practice to join us as an experienced Clinical Coding & Workflow Administrator within our IT and Coding Department. We are looking for part time applicants for around 22.5 hours per week, 3 days per week if possible.
To be responsible for the SNOMED coding of relevant information into patients' electronic healthcare records on the clinical system, in an accurate, timely, safe and efficient manner. In addition, the post holder will be a team player who can use their initiative to prioritise their workload and support the team, providing administrative support, in line with the needs of the organisation.
Main duties of the job:- To accurately code data on the clinical system into the patients' medical record and workflow documents to staff members (where appropriate).
- Identify relevant clinical information documented in patient correspondence, coding appropriately and completing any detailed action as required.
- Reorganising and summarising patient records and letters in preparation for summarising.
- Identify and refer any clinical actions to the appropriate team including the GPs.
- Scanning patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients' healthcare records.
About us: SAVILLE MEDICAL GROUP is a large and friendly Practice in the centre of Newcastle with a branch surgery at Newbiggin Hall. We care for approximately 43,500 patients with a high proportion of students in the City Centre and a more typical population in the branch surgery. The workforce consists of 7 GP Partners, 24 Salaried GPs and an extensive Nursing team. In addition, we have a medicines management team including 3 Clinical Pharmacists and over 40 skilled staff members. We also offer an expanding wellbeing team of 12 staff members with experience in mental health, dementia, children's charities, homelessness, substance misuse, domestic abuse and any patient who struggles to engage with services and needs more support than GPs alone can provide.
Our Primary Care Network is led by one of our GP Partners and Practice Manager enabling us to collaborate with numerous key partners including the CCG, Newcastle Hospital Trust, LMC and our Federation. This helps the practice to remain highly proactive in integrating the latest healthcare policy and digital systems, which makes every day challenging and rewarding.
