The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

Responsible for delivering all aspects of the quality function centered around Product Quality, in line with the quality management system and quality policy to ensure the range of products and services are fit for purpose and meet/exceed customer expectations. Responsible for ensuring that all areas/functions continue to develop and implement best practice in defect prevention, variation and waste reduction. Assist in minimising costs and maximising customer satisfaction whilst ensuring that procedures and processes are strictly adhered to.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES + DUTIES

Key Accountabilities

  • Empowered to halt production if critical requirements are not met (quality and/or product safety).
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice quality, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve performance.
  • Developing the metrics for the function, with ongoing monitoring of performance against agreed goals/KPIs and development of associated improvement plans.
  • Support NPI activity to ensure suppliers (internal and external) are capable of delivering to the required quality standards. Leading to successful Customer FAI.
  • Review manufacturing processes, collaborate on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities.
  • Manage the root cause analysis and corrective actions process. 8D, 5 why, Ishikawa familiarity.
  • Promote the use of customer preferred standards.
  • Conduct quality internal audits.
  • Work with the Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure process capability is effective to meet product requirements.

Relationships

  • Ensure that constructive working relationships are built and maintained with the UK site, departments, suppliers and customers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION (S) / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE

  • Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred but will equally consider HND, BTec Professional Level 5 Award or equivalent product experience.
  • Membership of the Chartered Quality Institute would be an advantage.
  • Experience in hydraulics is preferred.
  • Fully competent with standard Microsoft office packages and confident with interrogating/interpreting data.
