Retail Finance Manager – AS Watson Group, UK
Savers Retail Finance Manager plays a key role in Savers with accountability for cost control and for support to the customer facing teams of the business. The manager is the primary contact for the Regional General Managers, Security managers and ESG coordinators. The right person needs to know how to deliver results through others and must be willing to step in to cover any area within the team\'s remit when needed.
Job Purpose
Support the Senior Management with a variety of business support requests that may include tenders, presentations and ad‑hoc analysis & reporting
Own the month‑end processes, forecasts and annual budgeting cycles in your areas
Business‑partner the RGMs and support teams, providing a high level of customer service with timely reports and challenging them with insights
Provide financial information and analytical support to different areas of the business for example Store operations, Security, Audit, Finance
Take responsibility for Savers sales forecasting at both a company and store level, ensuring internal and external factors are considered, building a forecasting tool that can be regularly updated to ensure accuracy
Continuously look for ways to improve analysis and management information provided to the business including transitioning from Excel‑based static reporting to self‑service reporting through Power BI and other platforms
Support, manage and develop more junior members of the team whose responsibilities include retail‑based analysis, shrinkage, security costs and ESG with potential for line‑management responsibilities
Take the lead role in managing third‑party relationships in your areas from a Finance perspective and provide support for contract negotiations and tenders
Encourage the use of AI‑supported tools to improve efficiency in the team
What you’ll need
Qualified ACCA/CIMA
Desire to manage teams, with previous experience preferred
Strong communication, organisation and collaboration skills
Strong business partnering experience with commercial awareness
Strong Excel skills and ability to master other technical skills quickly
Ability to understand and adapt to cultural diversity, dealing with stakeholders both in the UK and overseas
Familiarity with Power BI & CoPilot would be a plus
