Save the Children UK has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Diversity, Equity & Inclusion professional to join us as our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Partner on a short-term temporary basis (approximately 3 months) covering paternity leave. You’ll play a key role in progressing priority DEI initiatives across the organisation, supporting colleagues to create a culture where everyone feels they belong. Please note, this is a short‑term paternity cover opportunity and we’re looking for someone who is available to start in August 2026.
About the role
As our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Partner, you will support the progress of key DEI priorities during this short-term cover, working with colleagues across the organisation to embed inclusive practices, support staff networks and help create a culture where everyone feels they belong. In this role, you will:
- Drive forward our Adjustments and Disability Inclusion Working Group and support wider disability inclusion initiatives.
- Support key inclusive working projects, including returning to work, inclusive meetings and other priority workstreams.
- Partner with staff equality networks, supporting events, engagement activity and ad hoc requests.
- Work with colleagues across teams to embed DEI into ways of working.
- Help create opportunities for connection and celebration through blogs, all‑staff meetings and cultural and religious awareness activities.
- Build collaborative relationships across the organisation to help embed inclusive practices and share DEI expertise.
About you
To be successful, it is important that you have:
- Experience of delivering or embedding diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives in a complex organisation.
- A strong understanding of intersectionality and the barriers that can affect inclusion in the workplace.
- Excellent communication, facilitation and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience of supporting organisational change, learning, culture or people initiatives through a DEI lens.
- A collaborative, adaptable approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Commitment to Save the Children’s vision, mission and values.
Location & Ways of Working
The majority of our roles can be performed remotely in the UK, but at times you will be required to come to your contracted office (usually between 2–4 days per month, depending on the needs of your role, team or service). This will be discussed and agreed with your manager / team and we encourage candidates to discuss our ways of working in more detail at interview stage. Please note: travel costs to your contracted office will be at your own expense.
