Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Lead, Oracle Fusion FMS Strategy and Advisory to join our global team.

Team and Role Purpose

The Transformation Development team drives Save the Children's organisational change agenda by delivering high-impact, global transformation initiatives that strengthen our ability to achieve more for children. The team works across a broad and evolving portfolio, spanning systems implementation, process reengineering, target operating model design, data, and artificial intelligence, adapting its focus in response to organisational priorities and emerging needs. Members of the team are assigned to a specific project and are expected to dedicate their full effort to delivering it. However, as the portfolio evolves, whether a project concludes, priorities shift, or an urgent need arises elsewhere, team members may be redeployed to a different initiative. This flexibility is core to how the team operates, ensuring Save the Children can direct the right capability to the right priorities at the right time.

Role Purpose

The Senior Lead, Oracle Fusion FMS Strategy and Advisory is Save the Children's internal consultant and trusted adviser on our Oracle Fusion Financial Management System implementation. The role exists to ensure that what we design and build is truly fit for purpose, meeting the real needs of our people and our organisation and that decisions are made in the interests of Save the Children, not simply shaped by the implementing partner's standard approaches. Combining deep Oracle Fusion FMS expertise with hands-on finance experience, the role holder brings an informed, independent voice to the project: one that understands both the product and the organisation well enough to advocate effectively and to challenge constructively.

Acting as an internal consultant, the role holder will work in close partnership with the implementing partner, business stakeholders, and internal technology teams, not to lead the technical delivery, but to ensure that what is being designed genuinely works for Save the Children as an INGO. This means developing a deep understanding, and partnering with the Solutions Architects in our IT function, of how our different applications and systems fit together, so they can identify where proposed solutions may create problems downstream, where better alternatives exist, and where the implementing partner’s default approach may not serve our specific context. They will translate this understanding into clear, evidence-based challenge and advice that helps the project make smarter decisions. This also helps us support Member implementations, where the level of implementing partner capacity will be smaller and where the Oracle expertise is inevitably going to be a gap where Members are new to this product.

This is a high-visibility, senior role that requires the confidence and credibility to engage finance and technology leaders across the movement, and to support the Project Leadership in pressure-testing proposed solutions for fitness for purpose. The role holder will help define what success looks like for Save the Children, support the realisation of benefits, and contribute to the establishment of a Centre of Excellence and shared support model. While the implementing partner leads delivery, this role is the organisation's critical friend throughout progressively building in-house capability and helping Members adopt the global solution through feasibility, design, and implementation support.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Act as Save the Children's internal consultant throughout the Oracle Fusion FMS implementation, working in close partnership with the implementing partner, business colleagues, and technology teams to ensure that configuration, integration, and business process designs are genuinely fit for purpose and reflect the specific needs of our organisation, not simply the implementing partner's standard approach; progressively building in-house capability so expertise is retained once the partner's involvement concludes.
  • Support the Project Lead and Product Owner in developing the future roadmap of Fusion FMS enhancements, including interfaces to other key systems, advising on scalability, performance, and a reduction in complexity across the estate.
  • Bring deep Oracle Fusion product expertise together with hands-on finance experience including emerging capabilities and best practice, translating this for the project team and upskilling colleagues to build internal capability.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of how Oracle Fusion FMS connects with Save the Children’s broader application landscape, using this knowledge to identify where proposed designs create risk or missed opportunity, and to advocate for solutions that genuinely work across our systems and our organisation as a whole.
  • Support the establishment and longer-term roadmap for shared support services and a Centre of Excellence, bringing industry experience and best practice to its design and implementation.
  • Support achievement of project success metrics and ensure consistent realisation of benefits, maintaining focus on improving the finance user experience and increasing organisational impact.
  • Work closely with the Global Change Manager to plan for accelerated adoption and successful, sustainable change across the movement, feeding Oracle expertise into these critical interventions.
  • Support the Project Leadership to pressure-test proposed solutions for fitness for purpose bringing the insight, independence, and product knowledge needed to challenge assumptions, surface risks, and ensure decisions are made in the best interests of Save the Children.
  • Engage senior finance and technology stakeholders across the movement with confidence and credibility, building the trust and relationships needed to surface requirements, gather the right input, and ensure the voices of our people genuinely inform solution design and decision-making.
  • Support Members as they adopt the global solution, providing input and SME knowledge to support creation of local feasibility assessments, solution design and implementation, while building close relationships with Finance and Member colleagues to enable adoption, buy-in, and shared capability.

Experience and Skills

  • Expert, hands-on knowledge of the Oracle Fusion FMS product, including configuration and emerging Fusion capabilities, gained from implementing Oracle within a finance function.
  • A finance background, having worked in a finance function combined with significant experience implementing Oracle Fusion as part of finance or ERP transformation within complex, global organisations.
  • Strong experience acting as a consultant or an internal adviser on ERP solution design, able to understand how a core finance platform integrates with the wider enterprise application landscape, and to identify where proposed designs do or do not serve the organisation’s specific needs.
  • Proven ability to define and drive realisation of benefits and success metrics, ensuring scalability, performance, and reduced complexity across the estate.
  • Experience working alongside third-party software vendors and implementing partners validating their designs, assuring quality, and taking on knowledge transfer to retain capability in-house.
  • Experience within global, matrix organisations, with a proven ability to work effectively with people from different cultures.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills including influencing, negotiation, and coaching, with the ability to support senior stakeholders through change across a global organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral English), with the ability to communicate and present to all levels of the organisation, and a commitment to Save the Children values.

Desirable

  • Experience leading or supporting transformation across multiple business units or countries, including enabling local teams through feasibility, design, and implementation.
  • Non-profit sector knowledge/experience (especially international development).
  • Second language – French, Spanish or Arabic.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrable Oracle Fusion expertise, evidenced by relevant Oracle Cloud certification(s) and/or substantial hands-on Fusion FMS implementation experience, ideally alongside a finance qualification or equivalent finance experience.

Certification

  • Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials certification(s).
