Reports To: Senior Specialist – Finance Business Partnering

Principal Accountabilities
Support the development of annual budgets and reforecasts by working closely with assigned budget holders, ensuring adequate cost coverage across funding sources (unrestricted & donor funding).
Provide meaningful financial analysis to support strategic and operational decision‑making.
Review budget vs actual reports (BVAs) for errors and omissions; support budget holders to monitor BVAs and provide analysis on variances against funding sources; resolve queries regarding financial transactions.
Ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of ledger postings, including recharges, reallocation journals, accruals and prepayments.
Process and submit invoices for services provided to external vendors.
Assist the Senior Finance Business Partner with financial management for Advocacy Offices.
Review costs received from members and coordinate with focal persons to ensure accurate charging to the correct codes and relevant accounting periods.
Review the costs received through bypass process and reallocate them to the appropriate codes.
Liaise with HR to obtain annual leave data and post monthly leave accruals.
Support audits, provide cover for senior finance staff, and undertake additional finance duties as required.
Essential Skills and Experience
Relevant finance work experience in a Chartered Accounting, Commercial or NGO environment.
Strong time management skills with the ability to plan ahead, anticipate requirements, and juggle competing priorities successfully.
Well‑developed analytical skills and business partnering skills (including budgeting and forecasting).
Good IT literacy including expertise in spreadsheet modelling.
Ability to liaise remotely with a wide range of people at all levels and across different cultures, acting with credibility, tact and diplomacy.
Proactive and logical problem‑solving ability.
High attention to detail, delivering accurate, timely and high‑quality work.
Good understanding of financial systems and procedures.
Conscientious, client‑focused approach.
Experience of balance sheet reconciliation and analysis.
Experience of donor reporting.
Desirable Skills
Experience in a multi‑currency Finance environment.
Education and Qualifications
Part‑qualified, AAT-ACA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent, or relevant experience.
