Save My Exams is a rapidly growing EdTech business on the lookout for an ambitious Product Designer to help students and teachers worldwide get the best possible chance of success in their exams. The Role

As a Product Designer you will play a key delivery role as part of one of our customer‑facing squads working alongside your partners in product management, engineering, AI and content. As a hands‑on designer, you will plan, design and develop the experience of new products and features as well as developing and honing existing flows with the aim of creating a learning experience that will inspire and develop our learners to achieve the best possible grades in their exams. This will be achieved through deeply understanding the challenges our learners face, gaining insight through qualitative and quantitative analysis, and building confidence in our solutions. You will form part of our product design community and support and challenge each other to collectively deliver the best possible experience.

Job Requirements

  • 2+ years experience working as an end‑to‑end Product Designer with experience working alongside product and engineering teams.
  • In‑depth knowledge of design & prototyping tools including rapid prototyping with AI tools. We use Figma and are experimenting with a lot of the new prototyping tools.
  • Experienced in gathering customer insights; both qualitative and quantitative. We use Amplitude for behavioural analytics.
  • Strong understanding of both user experience & visual design best practices.
  • A commercial mindset that balances achieving critical business outcomes with creating an exceptional user experience.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively present your work and bring key stakeholders on board.
  • You are confident in your ideas but open to learning from others.
  • Driven by delivering impact at speed.

Job Responsibilities

  • Deeply understand our users through continuous gathering of customer insights through qualitative & quantitative analysis.
  • Own the solution space with an unwavering focus on high‑impact outcomes.
  • Manage the full design cycle from creating initial prototypes to producing best‑in‑class UX and UI designs.
  • Use customer feedback to quickly iterate on prototypes and come up with the best solution.
  • Ensure that the final designs are accessible, responsive, on‑brand, and deliver an exceptional experience for our users while driving business outcomes.
  • Collaborate on the design system and work collaboratively with engineering to ensure quality, accessible, scalable designs.

  • Flexible working hours: We don’t expect (or want) you to spend every waking hour at work. Our general working hours are 9‑6 pm, however we have a company‑wide principle around core hours, which is 10‑4 pm and you can work at times that suit you and your team
  • Remote working: we’re UK based but you can work from your home or wherever you want within the UK.
  • A people‑first culture – we’re driven to work hard but we also have fun, with whole‑company coffee coolers, as well as bi‑annual get‑togethers in person.

  • CV application review: We will review it as quickly as possible and update on the next steps. Please include a link to your portfolio so we can see the impact you’ve made in your career so far.
  • Let’s chat: Approx 30‑45 minute chat with our hiring manager about your experience and the role.
  • Meet the team: 1.5‑2 hours with the wider team virtually or in our London office (this may be spread over a couple of days/separate calls depending on everyone's availability). This will include the opportunity to walk our team through a project from your portfolio that you’re particularly proud of that shows off your design thinking.
