OVERVIEW

The Elevator Mechanic (Constructor) will install, upgrade, service, and perform preventative maintenance on a variety of elevator and lift systems. The Elevator Mechanic will provide services to MA, NH, RI, VT, and ME.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install new elevator and Wheelchair Lift equipment according to specifications
  • Perform modernization and upgrades on existing systems
  • Perform Service and Maintenance on existing systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
  • Assemble and install electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components
  • Conduct safety tests, inspections, and troubleshooting
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, electricians, and other construction trades
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used
  • Ability to keep track of inventory
  • Follow all OSHA, Industry, and Company safety guidelines
  • Willingness to pursue other NE state licensing

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documents

  • Ability to pass a background check, driving check and drug test

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, dimensional drawings/specifications and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • IUEC or NAEC journeyman status preferred

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Active License in elevator construction in at least one of the following states (MA, NH, RI, VT and ME)

COMPUTER SKILLS

Basic proficiency in MS Office Suite

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee may occasionally stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch during shift. Employees will be required to regularly sit, use hand to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms. Employees must be able to occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to work in multiple environments (interior, exterior)
  • Ability to work in varying conditions (heights, shafts, machine rooms, tight spaces, staging, stairs, etc.)
  • Ability to climb, crouch, bend, and work in a physically demanding environment
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds.

TRAVEL

  • Willingness to drive 2 hours or less on a regular basis (company provided vehicle, paid drive time)
  • Willingness to do overnights if longer than 2 hours (company provided hotel and food allotment, overnights kept to a minimum)
