Our client, a leading consultancy, is seeking a Windows 365 / Virtual Desktop Solution Engineer to support the design, scoping, and implementation of modern virtual desktop solutions for an end client in the life sciences sector. The role focuses on Windows 365 Cloud PC, Microsoft Intune, and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), selecting the most appropriate platform for each use case. The consultant will act as a technical authority, supporting strategy, architecture, and hands‑on implementation in a regulated enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess current end‑user computing, VDI, and device use cases.
- Define and recommend use cases for Windows 365, AVD, and physical endpoints.
- Design and implement Windows 365 and Intune configurations: enrollment, security policies, application delivery, user profiles.
- Lead or support pilot deployments: performance, usability, security, and support and validation.
- Advise on VDI architecture: cost, scalability, operational complexity, and GxP compliance.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and workplace teams.
- Produce documentation and support knowledge transfer.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor, recommending robust and compliant solutions.
Must‑Have Skills & Experience:
- Hands‑on experience with Windows 365 (Cloud PC), Microsoft Intune, and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
- Proven experience designing and implementing VDI / Cloud Desktop solutions.
- Strong understanding of endpoint management, identity and access (Entra ID), security, and policy enforcement.
- Ability to translate business and regulatory requirements into technical solutions.
- Comfortable as both solution architect and hands‑on engineer.
- Experience in life sciences or other regulated environments.
- Familiarity with GxP requirements for end‑user computing.
- Experience supporting global or hybrid enterprise environments.
- Experience delivering VDI pilots or proofs of concept in regulated settings.
