We are an established SME which supplies software and database development, support services and consultancy expertise for life and business critical systems. We also have extensive experience of implementing technologies for a wide range of infrastructures from national data centres to smart phones.
Our growing business requires a talented and enthusiastic permanent full-time developer to work on varying projects ranging from life-critical large-scale developments to web applications and small applications catering to a growing customer base. For the right candidate, they will work on a range of projects with other highly motivated software developers including Li-LAC, SSC and Dalbeattie. They will be expected to contribute to technical design sessions, development, maintenance, testing and a degree of customer support as and when necessary.

You will work with the team to build function rich applications, which build on Savantβs solid reputation for developing slick, well-designed software and applications. The position requires flexibility, reliability and along with problem solving skills, the ability to work in a busy environment under pressure. There will be a high degree of autonomy and self-management expected. The successful candidate will report to the Developing Projects Project Manager. There is a hybrid WFH policy which allows for WFH 2 days per week, you are expected to be office based for the remaining 3. This policy will only apply once a successful probationary period is completed and only then if the candidate is able to fulfil their role. Some flexibility around these days is expected.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Our main software development projects utilise .NET and C# however candidates would be expected to work on various Android projects in both Kotlin and Java. The position will include being responsible for:
- The design and development of user-facing features.
- Design and development of server-side code.
- Building reusable code and libraries for future use.
- Ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and related code.
- Optimisation of applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Developer testing and validation processes.
- Collaboration with other team members, customers and stakeholders.
- Supporting customers via telephone, email or Teams.
- Android and Zebra hardware configuration.
- Knowledge of Entity Framework Core.
- Knowledge of Web Servers (IIS) and Windows Server.
- Knowledge of DevExpress components.
- SQL Lite and ROOM database.
- Knowledge of Android best practice and design principles.
- Knowledge of deploying Apps to Google Managed Play Store, Microsoft InTune.
Required Skills:
- Experience level 3+ years.
- UI development using MVC and Web Forms.
- Knowledge of API design and development.
- Knowledge of database development techniques.
- Knowledge of OOP best practice and design principles.
- Knowledge of source control packages such as DevOps, Git or Team Foundation.
- Knowledge of writing unit tests and other forms of testing.
- SQL (DDL, DQL and DML).
