Software Developer Role

£35,000 to £45,000/annum (Negotiable Dependant on Experience) + annual bonuses, Private Health Insurance, and other benefits

Summary of Position

Our growing business requires a talented and enthusiastic permanent full-time developer to work on varying projects ranging from life-critical large-scale developments to web applications and small applications catering to a growing customer base. For the right candidate they will work on a range of projects with other highly motivated software developers include Li-LAC, SSC and Dalbeattie. They will be expected to contribute to technical design sessions, development, maintenance, testing and a degree of customer support as and when necessary. They should have the ability to:

1. Demonstrate knowledge of the technical requirements listed below.
2. Possess a strong motivation to combine the art of design with the art of programming.
3. Show a flair for designing and implementing visual elements of application design.
4. Can work independently and multi-task effectively.
5. Be flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary.

You will work with the team to build function rich applications, which build on Savant’s solid reputation for developing slick, well-designed software and applications. The position requires flexibility, reliability and along with problem solving skills, the ability to work in a busy environment under pressure. There will be a high degree of autonomy and self-management expected. The successful candidate will report to the Developing Projects Project Manager. There is a hybrid WFH policy which allows for WFH 2 days per week, you are expected to be office based for the remaining 3. This policy will only apply once a successful probationary period is completed and only then if the candidate is able to fulfil their role. Some flexibility around these days is expected.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Our main software development projects utilise .NET and C# however candidates would be expected to work on various Android projects in both Kotlin and Java. The position will include being responsible for:

1. The design and development of user-facing features.
2. Design and development of server-side code.
3. Building reusable code and libraries for future use.
4. Ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and related code.
5. Optimisation of applications for maximum speed and scalability.
6. Developer testing and validation processes.
7. Collaboration with other team members, customers and stakeholders.
8. Supporting customers via telephone, email or Teams.
9. Android and Zebra hardware configuration.
10. Knowledge of Entity Framework Core.
11. Knowledge of Web Servers (IIS) and Windows Server.
12. Knowledge of DevExpress components.
13. SQL Lite and ROOM database.
14. Knowledge of Android best practice and design principles.
15. Knowledge of deploying Apps to Google Managed Play Store, Microsoft InTune.

Required Skills:

1. Experience level 3+ years.
2. UI development using MVC and Web Forms.
3. Knowledge of API design and development.
4. Knowledge of database development techniques.
5. Knowledge of OOP best practice and design principles.
6. Knowledge of source control packages such as DevOps, Git or Team Foundation.
7. Knowledge of writing unit tests and other forms of testing.
8. SQL (DDL, DQL and DML).
