Summary of Position
We are seeking a highly skilled full‑time, permanent Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of multiple Oracle databases within the same project.

There will be a high degree of autonomy and self‑management expected. The successful candidate will report to the Hematos Project Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Create, configure, and maintain Oracle databases, ensuring high availability and performance
- Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement tuning strategies to optimise performance
- Implement data security and backup/recovery strategies to safeguard sensitive information
- Develop and maintain database documentation, including data models, installation guides, and operational procedures
- Collaborate with application teams to optimise database queries and improve application performance
- Conduct regular database audits, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations
- Stay current with Oracle technologies and industry trends to propose innovative solutions
- Carry out patching to maintain current versions
- Install and patch Oracle Rest Data Services (ORDS) and maintain API interfaces via ORDS
- Carry out application software updates to the relevant databases
- Carry out ad‑hoc data modifications
- Maintain a good working relationship with Savant’s Clients
Oracle certifications (OCA, OCP) are highly desirable.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA, with a proven track record of managing Oracle databases in production environments
- Experience working within the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environment, including database and data migrations from on‑premise to OCI
- Understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems and command line environments
- Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture and internals, including backup and recovery techniques, Data Guard, Flashback and ADRCI
- Experience with performance tuning and optimisation, including SQL and PL/SQL
- Familiarity with Oracle tools such as RMAN, Data Pump, ORDS and Enterprise Manager
- Solid understanding of database security principles and compliance practices
- Experience of Container and Pluggable databases
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in Oracle Database (version 12c and above)
- Experience with OCI
- Proficient in SQL and PL/SQL programming
- Be familiar with Log mining and ADRCI
- Experience with database migration and upgrade processes
- Understanding of Oracle’s CPU patching processes
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as AWR, ASH, and Statspack
- Basic network understanding
