An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially astute Financial Controller to join a successful and growing organisation at a pivotal stage in its development. This is far more than a traditional finance role. As a key member of the team, you will play a central role in shaping business performance, influencing strategic decisions and driving financial excellence across the organisation. You will report directly to the MD, manage a team of 3 and make a genuine impact on both day-to-day operations and long-term growth plans.

The Role

Reporting into the MD, you will lead the finance function and take ownership of all aspects of financial management, planning, reporting and governance. You will act as a trusted business partner, providing commercial insight, robust financial analysis and strategic support to help drive performance and deliver organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and business planning.
  • Deliver insightful management information and commercial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Manage complex cash flow, working capital and financial risk to ensure a strong and sustainable financial position.
  • Oversee statutory reporting, audit processes and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and enhance financial controls, systems and reporting frameworks.
  • Partner with operational leaders to identify opportunities for growth, efficiency and profitability.
  • Support key business initiatives through financial modelling, analysis and recommendations.
  • Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Manage relationships with auditors, banks and external advisors.
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems and reporting.

About You

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance or within a similar senior finance leadership role.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial information into actionable business insight.
  • Demonstrable experience leading budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and build credibility with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills with a collaborative and hands-on approach.
  • Passionate about driving business performance, operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Experience within a multi-site, consumer-facing or service-led environment would be advantageous.
