SAUR UK has a proud and rich history of UK operations. Today our work is primarily in Glasgow where Saur operates the Wastewater Treatment Works in Dalmuir on behalf of Scottish Water, Scotland's national water and wastewater provider.

We're currently hiring a Electrical Technician, for SAUR UK, based in Glasgow.

Mission:

The main responsibilities of this role involve executing planned and corrective electrical maintenance tasks to uphold the reliable condition and strong performance of various plant equipment at the SAUR Services Glasgow site.

Tasks include identifying faults and determining root causes, rectifying defects, and promptly resolving breakdowns during emergencies.

Collaboration with maintenance, operations, and process departments is essential.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Electrical Technician responsibilities will be:

  • Implementation of scheduled planned maintenance by realising work orders generated by the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Identification & reporting of abnormal equipment behaviour or critical process situations,
  • Possess & demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of industrial electrical equipment, especially PLC, Electrical panels and components, MCCs, Scada, General electrical duties,
  • Install & repair various types of industrial equipment and component.
  • Reacting to failure/breakdown of equipment and carrying out corrective/remedial measures as necessary or directed.
  • Suggestion of solutions for continuous improvement of plant safety, reliability and overall efficiency.
  • Perform strip down, repair, overhaul & test of various electrical plant.

Requirements

  • Certification in IET Wiring Regulations BS7671 to 17th/18th edition standard.
  • Completion of an electrical engineering apprenticeship at the trade level.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in automated/PLC-controlled equipment, MCC, and SCADA systems.
  • Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical, and process schematics/specifications.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems and constraints.
  • Preferably holds current CSCS card or equivalent.
  • Proficient in using handheld computerized equipment.

Committed, self-motivated, with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Holds a current driver's license.
  • Understanding of Business
  • Proficient in Data Gathering & Analysis
  • Possesses current PASMA and MEWP licenses (preferred)
  • Holds a forklift license, confined spaces & escape BA certification (preferred)

Conditions:

The core working week is 37 hours from Monday to Friday - monday to Thursday 07:30 - 15:30 & Friday 07:30 - 15:00,
