We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented QA Engineer to lead and coordinate quality assurance activities across NSI UK’s projects in the municipal water and industrial effluent treatment sectors. The successful candidate will ensure that quality requirements are fully embedded and maintained throughout all phases of project delivery — from design and procurement through to installation, commissioning, completions work, and handover.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP) in line with water industry standards and project-specific requirements.
- Produce and coordinate the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) during the engineering phase, ensuring that inspection and verification activities are aligned with client, regulatory, and company standards.
- Work closely with the Procurement and Commercial teams to ensure all ITP and quality requirements are clearly incorporated into purchase orders and subcontracts.
- Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to monitor the submission and approval of QA documentation, ensuring full traceability and compliance.
- Attend and witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), equipment inspections, and fabrication checks for components such as pumps, valves, tanks, and treatment systems, producing detailed inspection reports.
- During the installation and commissioning phases, manage site-based QA activities including inspection coordination, documentation, test pack control, and compilation of Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals.
- Witness and verify on-site mechanical, electrical, and process tests, ensuring adherence to approved test methodologies and producing clear, concise test reports.
- Collaborate across project teams, clients, and regulatory bodies to uphold quality standards and drive continuous improvement in project performance.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in QA/QC roles within the water or industrial effluent treatment sectors.
- Solid understanding of inspection and testing regimes relevant to mechanical, electrical, and process systems in water treatment.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and water industry specifications (e.g. WIMES, BS/EN standards).
- Strong documentation, communication, and coordination skills, with the ability to engage suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Willingness to travel to project sites, fabrication facilities, and supplier premises across the UK.
- Holding the following cards: CSCS or equivalent accredited scheme, EUSR Water Hygiene, EUSR SHEA Card.
