The Part‑Time Operations Technician will be responsible for safe and successful operation and maintenance of a modern Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) located within the site of an internationally recognised customer in Craig Tara, Ayr. The Operations Technician will be expected to monitor and control the plant and implement any necessary operational changes, prepare the plant for planned maintenance tasks as required, and enter all data into a computer‑based system to record plant performance. In addition, the Operations Technician will carry out first‑line preventive maintenance activities on the equipment with the support of a Computerised Maintenance Management System. Tasks include cleaning/calibration of process instruments, changing over pumps/equipment duty, greasing/lubrication, and changing filters. All necessary training will be provided, but it is critical that the candidate can demonstrate a willingness to learn.
This is a flexitime role; the technician will be free to carry out work at a time that suits them, but it is expected that they will work outside these hours if required to facilitate client or contractor visits. The applicant will also provide on‑call plant cover and may be required to respond to any alarms or attend the site if necessary. If the candidate can demonstrate the ability to carry out higher‑level maintenance activities or commits to taking on these responsibilities, the company is prepared to provide an increased remuneration package and fund the additional training that may be necessary.
