Firewall Security Engineer/Analyst - Palo Alto is responsible for the design, implementation oversight, and management of security measures to protect network infrastructure from potential threats. This role involves assessing security risks, developing comprehensive security policies, templates and objects to optimise the estate under directions set by Engineers and Teams and ensuring compliance with company & industry standards and regulations.
12 month engagement
Key Responsibilities:- Supporting and optimising security designs and solutions that protect network infrastructure from internal and external threats.
- Providing consultation for design and deployment of Firewall-based policy/EDL/zone/content/ACL changes in line with Security Standards.
- Ensuring that security measures comply with relevant industry standards and regulations (eg, ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
- Supporting project teams in translating business requirements into technical and functional solution specifications.
- Designing and tracking implementation of Firewall Rules according to business requirements while maintaining compliance with security standards.
- Validating changes have been applied to Firewalls in line with designs & technical/functional requirements.
- Conducting thorough security risk assessments and vulnerability analysis to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
- Developing and maintaining network security documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain configurations.
- Coordinating with vendor & internal resources to ensure quality of support and maintain company network operations security compliance.
- Staying updated on the latest security trends, threats, and technologies to continually enhance the security posture of the network infrastructure.
Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or network management but will consider candidates with the right combination of relevant work experience or degrees in related field.
- Fluent in English (verbal and written).
- Experience in ITIL and ITSM.
- At least 3 years of network/security engineering design and operation experience.
- Able to communicate effectively via written and verbal modes.
