Responsibilities
The DC engineer will be required to rack / and cable various network switches / routers / appliances & maintain these
Work within project timelines providing updates to the PM and the wider team
Work with the Network command center on troubleshooting network equipment,
Able to work independently
Work on the resolution of incidents in a timely manner & update various parties, manage / update support tickets in the SNOW (Service Now) ticketing system
Host Vendor engineers & other staff as required
Weekend and flexible work essential.
Required to update & produce spreadsheets and keep various data centre records updated
Stock checks receive and store goods
Qualifications
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure – OM4 cable / single mode cable / copper cabling
- Working knowledge of a IT DC
- Working knowledge of patching best practices
- Understanding of sever Network patching
- Knowledge of Cisco Switches & Routers / PaloAlto appliances / Terminal server / Nexus Switches / ACI environment would be good
Nice to haves:
- Able to troubleshoot Network issues from a cabling / SFP point of view – as a basic know what various SFPs are
- PC proficient
- Customer facing
