We are seeking a Traffic Safety Engineer to join Traffic Safety Services Department. Traffic Safety Services Department is responsible for promoting safe driving culture & enhancing roads' safe driving experience, by providing best in class traffic safety services which contribute to the kingdom 2030 vision. Your primary role is to perform professional specialized transportation & traffic safety engineering tasks and participate in developing efficient and effective traffic safety initiatives, policies, and action plans for a safer working and living environment within the company facilities. Position’s tasks would include but are not limited to roadways design reviews, accidents investigation/analysis, road safety assessments, and development of remedial countermeasures.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a technical lead to various traffic safety engineering related work tasks.
- Interface with company representatives & government authorities to address traffic and transportation safety improvements in the Eastern Province.
- Provide technical support to various internal & external entities to improve traffic mobility and traffic safety.
- Support proponents in developing project scopes, project proposals, and schematics for packages related to roads and traffic safety improvements.
- Review and provide initial inputs on design & specifications of roadway schemes within and around company facilities utilizing applicable industry standards and guidelines.
- Participate in the efforts of developing initiatives and identifying areas of traffic safety improvements based on international best practices and emerging technologies.
- Participate in investigations of traffic accidents involving company employees and contractors within the company premises.
- Program, coordinate, and prioritize technical tasks activities and assign them to pertinent resources.
- Enhance internal technical capacity by establishing proper training and developing efficient processes for knowledge sharing/transfer.
Minimum Qualifications
- You will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized and approved program.
- An advanced degree with emphasis on Transportation & Traffic Engineering is preferred.
- You must have 15 years of experience in Traffic Engineering & Transport Planning Studies, including at least 10 years in Traffic Safety-related projects.
- You must have technical proficiency in road design, transport planning & traffic safety studies.
- You must be familiar with local & international standards & guidelines.
- Professional certification & licenses are a requirement.
- You will have the ability to conduct site visits & site assessments.
- You must be able to use transportation/traffic analysis & simulation software.
- Project management and resource planning knowledge is a requirement.
- You must be able to demonstrate outstanding written and verbal communication.
