Job Description

Senior Accountant – Retail Brand – £50-60k

Our client is looking for a dedicated and driven Senior Accountant to join our vibrant retail SME. This role is crucial for ensuring the financial health and smooth operation of the business in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead a variety of financial functions, supporting the company’s strategic growth and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, ensuring all financial records are accurate and fully compliant with industry regulations.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, providing key insights and variance analysis to guide decision-making.
  • Oversee VAT returns and work closely with external auditors to finalise year-end accounts.
  • Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts, ensuring financial resources are effectively allocated across the business.
  • Take ownership of the budgeting process and financial forecasting, delivering regular reports on financial performance and KPIs.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and help the business achieve its objectives.

About You:

  • You are part-qualified or fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA, or similar qualification).
  • You have solid experience in a finance role, preferably within the retail or fashion/apparel sector or a similar SME environment.
  • You have a strong understanding of financial reporting, cash flow management, and budgeting.
  • You are well-versed in VAT regulations and tax compliance, ensuring the business remains fully compliant.
  • You possess excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
