This is a newly created Financial Controller role - built for someone who wants genuine ownership, not just a job title. You’ll report directly to the CEO, COO and CRO, act as a trusted partner to senior leadership, and stay close to the numbers. No layers. No bureaucracy. Real influence.

The business is a fast-moving, internationally operating news organisation with locations across the globe. Priorities shift quickly here - and that’s exactly what makes it interesting. If you want a dynamic environment where your decisions actually matter, this is it.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead a small international finance team and take full ownership of the function end-to-end.
  • Month-end close across AP, AR, banking, fixed assets and trial balance.
  • Monthly and quarterly management accounts with genuine insight.
  • Cash flow forecasting and daily liquidity management.
  • Payroll and statutory reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Financial controls, approval processes and primary payment sign-off.
  • Liaising with global tax advisers, auditors and banking partners.
  • Budgeting, forecasting and commercial strategy alongside the leadership team.
  • Revenue structures and intercompany movements across borders.
  • Ad hoc financial support to operations and sales.

What we’re looking for:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in international broadcasting is a MUST.
  • Background in an SME or founder-led business.
  • Comfortable with international entities, multi-currency and cross-border complexity.
  • Hands-on by nature, but able to think at a strategic level.
  • Pragmatic, solutions-focused - you improve things without over-engineering them.
  • Confident with senior stakeholders and credible in the room.

Why this one?

This is a rare chance to step into a visible, high-impact FC role within a genuinely interesting business. You’ll have the ear of the CEO and the space to build something properly.
