Territory: Midlands & North West Home Based | Competitive Basic Salary + Bonus | Company Car Sauce People are recruiting an experienced Area Sales Manager on behalf of an established and highly regarded supplier of CNC machine tools and engineering solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business representing high-quality machinery and solutions to manufacturing and engineering customers across the Midlands and North West.

The company is looking for someone who can develop existing customer relationships while actively identifying and winning new business throughout the territory.

The Role This is a home-based field sales position with responsibility for developing sales across the Midlands and North West.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Managing and developing existing customer accounts
  • Identifying and winning new business
  • Developing relationships with engineering and manufacturing companies throughout the territory
  • Understanding customers' manufacturing requirements and identifying appropriate solutions
  • Generating enquiries and developing opportunities through the sales process
  • Conducting customer visits, presentations and commercial discussions
  • Preparing and following up quotations
  • Developing a strong pipeline of new opportunities
  • Working closely with technical, service and internal teams
  • Representing the company professionally throughout the territory
  • Achieving agreed sales and business-development targets This is very much a customer-facing role, and while you will be home based, you will be expected to spend the majority of your working week out in the territory developing relationships and generating business.

About You We're looking for a commercially driven salesperson who is comfortable developing relationships and opening doors.

Ideally, you will have sales experience within CNC machine tools, manufacturing equipment, production machinery or a closely related engineering sector.

However, the company is prepared to consider candidates from other relevant technical sales backgrounds who can demonstrate a strong track record of selling capital equipment or technical solutions into manufacturing and engineering businesses.

You should be

  • Experienced in B2B technical/engineering sales
  • Confident developing new business
  • Able to manage and grow existing accounts
  • Comfortable dealing with engineers, production teams and senior decision-makers
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing a large geographical territory
  • Commercially aware with good negotiation skills
  • Able to build long-term customer relationships Knowledge of CNC machining, machine tools or metalworking/manufacturing processes would be particularly advantageous.
