The Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to take full ownership of front-end sales activity. This is a senior role, reporting directly to the directors, and will be pivotal in shaping how new opportunities are identified, qualified, and developed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Mapping markets and identifying viable prospects.
- Building relationships with key stakeholders (particularly Asset Integrity Engineers).
- Developing structured contact and visit plans through cold-calling, referrals, and exhibitions.
- Collaborating with Process Engineers to deliver technical solutions.
- Maintaining client contact post-sale to forecast upcoming projects.
- Uploading accurate information into the CRM to support forecasting and transparency.
- Managing diary and travel effectively to maximise impact.
Candidate Profile
- Proven track record in business development or technical sales of high-value engineered solutions.
- Inquisitive, tenacious, and forensic in approach — able to ask the right questions and uncover opportunities.
- Skilled in rapport and relationship building, with credibility at senior engineering levels.
- Comfortable working alongside technical experts without needing to be deeply technical themselves.
- Knowledge of Graham Hart’s core markets is desirable. Candidates from comparable industries such as mechanical seals, valves, pumps, process equipment, or automation will be considered strong crossover fits.
- Organised, commercially disciplined, and able to prioritise effectively.
